加速背後
Google 最新推出了 Google Web Accelerator ，其實就像 Proxy 原理，不過今次 你的 Proxy 是強大的 Google 為後盾。你的瀏覽器每發出去的 request，都會經過 Google 的機器，看看有沒有存檔。而比起一般 Proxy 做得更多的，是在之前 Search Result 裏也應用到的 Prefetch 功能，還有資料壓縮等等。
比起 Search History ， Google Web Accelerator 更完全地掌握用戶的瀏覽資訊和使用習慣，這當然會引起了 Privacy 的疑問，而 Google 說：
Google does not require any personal information when you download Google Web Accelerator, although we do collect standard information about your computer, such as the type of browser you use, etc.
嗯… 好一個 etc，但何為 Standard Information呢？即使這不是敏感的資料，但他們會連同你的 Cookies 一同 Cache：
To enhance Google Web Accelerator’s performance, Google temporarily caches cookies from third party sites that are used in your Web requests.
BoingBoing 的 Google accelerator is a scary anonymizer 中提到了 Google 對我們掌握了多少資訊：
…but of course you’re not anonymous to Google, which knows about your search history (if you’ve got cookies on), your email address (if you register for Groups, etc), your friends (if you use Orkut), your email (if you use gmail), and even has your credit card (if you use AdWords or Answers)
比起傳統的 Proxy， Google Web Accelerator 的確更人性化和醒目，但不知道大家又會不會嫌它太過聰明了？
