I guess... the FULL moon reminds them of the broken family and their lives with regrets. In the movie, the moon is exaggerated (NOT REAL). It implies that these characters are also looking for perfect lives, but unfortunately, their lives are far from perfection. They also have regrets. The little boy is also able to observe the difference in his Aunt. She becomes older and the boy, looking at the moon, feels pity for his aunt. Life is never like the full moon in the movie...
