因為有了 Gmail , Google Suggest 這些對 Javascript 的運用得好的 Web Application，大家都開始推測：上年是 css 和 web standards 掘起的年 (至少在外國是…)，今年則會大量運用新式 Javascript 去提供更好的 Web Application，所謂的新式其實是指不用 browser reload 而更新資料，也就是 XmlHttpRequest。
