新ie只限xp

m$在搗自己的米，ie已經是好多年沒有更新過，而終於有更新的時候，卻又只限xp人。我們公司的機都是2000來的，沒有機會享用新的browser了。不過，這樣也好，大家就轉用firefox吧！

Here is what the next generation windows LongHorn looks like when you activate your 3D UI.

Seems quite refreshing, huh? Make me think of “Minority Report“ somehow. Here is the First Look of the LongHorn. One of the thing that caught my attention is that the side bar would support reading RSS, although it is not implemented yet. However, if you let me choose, I still prefer to use Bloglines for the time being, as I can centralize my RSS channels in one single place and access them everywhere. Of course, they have the export function to export my collections into OPML file. But I just don’t like to do the export-and-import work again and again. Actually, I’m hoping that if someone can give a service to save your RSS collections, just like ICQ saving my contact list on the web. You can use whatever client you like to connect to it and retrieve your RSS list. But I’m satisfied with Bloglines right now. It would be better if I can change my UI…..

P.S. It seems to me that I’ve been blogging more in the same day (now about 2 posts per day). Maybe related to the fact that I start to use bloglines to read RSS news.

下一代的windows將分為三種display mode，如果你的顯示卡在3d顯示功能方面有不錯的性能，就可以體會新的interface，否則還是回到windows2000的舊模樣吧！

看來我們的hardware實在走前於software太多了，要找地方發洩一下。繼luna ui後又來這個3d ui……

The top-of-the-line interface, code-named “Aero Glass,” will have transparency and other advanced three-dimensional shading features but will demand a high-end video card with at least 64MB of video memory. The midlevel “Aero” interface will offer most of the improved graphics abilities and will require just 32MB of video memory.

Both Aero and Aero Glass will also require DirectX 9.0 support, AGP 4X for external graphics cards and a Longhorn graphics driver.

For those systems that lack such a powerful graphics card, Microsoft will offer a “classic” interface, designed to replicate Windows 2000, the mainstay of today’s corporate desktops.
